First Communion

Children were the primary targets for many of the priests in terms of evangelizing.  Children often had an easier time learning the new languages, as well as religions.  For this reason, many children had their first communion. The First Communion is when the child first recieves the Eucharist.  The attire for the Native children's first communion was Western, and the girls wore full white with white headcovers.
