Woldson Internship
This Woldson Internship exhibit is currently set to private, as student interns drawn froma range of disciplines with the College of Arts & Sciences at Gonzaga University are currently constructing a set of digital and physical exhibits centered on the life of Miss Myrtle Woldson.
Miss Woldson (1910-2014) was an accomplished businesswoman, musician, and philanthropist whose generous donation to Gonzaga University has funded the Woldson Performing Arts Center, where our finished exhibits will be on display for the public.
Under the direction of Dr. Katey Roden (Visiting Scholar in Digital Humanities and Lecturer in English and Women's & Gender Studies) and Dr. Veta Schlimgen (Assistant Professor of History) a cohort of undergraduate researchers are hard at work creating an interactive and student-developed 3-D timeline, which will be on display alongside other digital and material exhibits drawn from Miss Woldson’s personal collections.
Through this entirely student-curated exhibit, students from a range of majors in Gonzaga University’s College of Arts & Sciences will have an opportunity to engage in original undergraduate research as they examine and interpret the changing shape of American culture over the span of Miss. Woldson’s 104 years in Spokane, WA and the greater Pacific Northwest.
The Woldson Performing Arts Center broke ground in Fall of 2016 and is scheduled to open in Winter, 2018.
If you’re in Spokane, come check out our students’ digital exhibits available for the public to explore in the Interpretive Center on the second floor of the Woldson Performing Arts Center!
